A business card doesn't have to be so formal, depending on the type of business your in, try some humor. If you can get someone looking at your card to grin or smile, you've already won, because GUARENTEED, you made a lasting impression, and that grin will help keep your business or service first in line, when they happen to need your services.
Dont be scared to dress up your title. EXAMPLE: Im starting a business as an artist, and am in the process of recruiting other artists for freelancing opporunties in my area, I could put "Owner" or "Artist" as my title. BUT, instead, I put "Executive Creative Director", or "Senior Executive of ...". I could put Marketing, Recruiting, Advertisement, the possibilities are endless. The best part is Im NOT lying. As a small business owner, you ARE all of these things.
Finally, research the colors associated with your field. Then research the color that produces the response, or feeling you want to card holder to feel. Now, incorporate these colors on your card. A little subliminal encouragement could never hurt, right?
